The Mermaid Society features Pura Vida Board Gear Team Riders April 10 2015

Recently, Pura Vida Board Gear and our Team Riders were featured in an article by The Mermaid Society, which is based out of Australia. The Mermaid Society is a surf culture site that provides daily news, photos, contest results and other happenings by and about girls of the sea.

Our Team Riders Jill Kepich, Erika Valverde and Kalohe Danbara tell a little about their surfing experiences and how Pura Vida Board Gear fits into their active surf lifestyles. Jill's sister Kim Kepich joined us on a recent photo shoot in Playa Hermosa and also uses Pura Vida Board Gear socks on her internation surf travels with or without Jill.

Originally from New Jersey, Jill, twenty two, lives in Costa Rica part time and competes on the National Surfing Circuit here while also finishing her college courses online and mastering her Spanish! She has been using Pura VIda Board Gear socks for the past two years on her travels and loves the Costa Rica waves.

Twenty six year old Erika is originally from Playa Dominicalito but has made Playa Hermosa her home with boyfriend Roger Chun, where she tries to surf in front of their house every day. "Playa Hermosa is a consistent wave. I love the Pura Vida Board Gear socks because they have our pura vida on them and help protect my boards from the sun and dings." Erika is also a big animal rights advocate and helped organize a strike in San Jose against the mistreatment of animals.

Kalohe Danbara, twelve years old, was born in Hawaii and lives with Dad, Kai,  in Huntington Beach, California where she attends school and competes on the NSSA Jr. Circuit and Soul Surf Competitions.Recently she finished third overall in the NSSA Jrs. for the year. She loves surfing because it connects her with nature and the Pura Vida Board Gear socks "look awesome and keep my boards from getting Chinese wax jobs."

Pura Vida Board Gear is proud to have representation by all four of these fine athletes and role models.
